Dorothy Heath Morris

Founder, President, Lead Designer, Decision Maker, Peace Keeper. (A whirling dervish, if you will.)

Favorite Blossom

“It used to be Tulips when I was younger, now that we have been farming flowers for over the last 10 years I fall in love with every bloom!”

Inspired By

“Life! Evoking delight and joy! I try to soak it all up and appreciate everyone and everything.”

My Motto

“.Breathe.”

The face of Bells & Whistles & The Flower Field can instantly light up a room with her sweet smile and captivating personality. Dorothy’s passion for flowers, design and all things pretty make her alluring to clients and friends alike. The Flower Field started it all. Planting bulbs on a small plot of land in Currituck, Dorothy had dreams of having her own flower shop with farm grown blooms. Fast-forward 10 years and the business has blossomed by leaps and bounds! Bells & Whistles at the Flower Field is: a full service Florist with it’s own local Boutique; a Wedding, Event & Holiday Design service with a Showroom and Warehouse; and a source for locally grown blooms.

“I grew up on two beautiful farms during my childhood. Both sides of my family had a passion for flowers. My father is a third generation bulb grower. I don’t think I really had a choice, {loving flowers} it was instilled in me. My husband and I both graduated with art degrees and have found passion in event design. How lucky are we!? Making things pretty and growing are two things that come hand in hand. Whether it be your garden, your wedding/event or your business, we dream big!”

Dorothy Graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. To add to her creative repertoire she has studied and worked with many well-known designers all over the US. Fresh inspirations keep Bells & Whistles on the cutting edge of wedding design.

What does she hope to teach or share? “Joy”
